Suzanne Koenig was recognized by the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana with their prestigious Alumni Achievement Award. Established in 1957 to recognize outstanding achievement and contributions of UI Alum, receiving this award counts Suzanne among many remarkable graduates of UI, including at least three Nobel laureates, the former Prime Minister of Egypt, multiple Pulitzer prize winners, and a few billionaires. In the words of the UI Alumni Association:
The highest honor bestowed upon alumni by the University of Illinois Alumni Association on behalf of the University of Illinois. The award is presented to those alumni who have attained outstanding success and national or international distinction in their chosen profession or life’s work, and whose accomplishments reflect admirably on or bring honor to their Alma Mater.
