Rick Snider, MPA
Chief Strategy Officer
Rick Snider is Chief Strategy Officer for SAK Healthcare. Mr. Snider has over three decades of experience in leading diverse organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including service as the chief administrative officer for the tenth largest county in Illinois.
Mr. Snider worked for eight years in local government and served as the County Administrator for Champaign County, Illinois, managing a $127 million annual budget and 923 full-time employees. As village administrator of Rantoul, Illinois, Mr. Snider launched economic development projects that included an autonomous and connected vehicle test track on 250 acres of village-owned land in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago, and development of a technology innovation campus with the first tenant being the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Snider has experience in a wide variety of enterprise functions, ranging from the maintenance of a 400-unit vehicle fleet, to purchasing, warehouse operations, information technology support, customer service, facilities management, community services, geographic information systems, and the reconstruction and upgrading of a historic theater.
Mr. Snider’s career in healthcare and senior services includes oversight of a 243-bed skilled nursing facility, emergency takeover and management of one of the largest alcohol detoxification centers in New Mexico with over 25,000 intakes annually, and operation of two city senior centers providing hot meals, transportation, and home-based services. In addition, Mr. Snider spent thirteen years consulting and serving as executive director of a Boston-based non-profit technology organization, and ten years as an engineer and manager of product design support at Motorola in Chicago.
Mr. Snider holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Snider is an International City/County Manager Association (ICMA) Credentialed Manager.
